Research, Pedagogy, and Other Institutional Practices:
An Interdisciplinary Conference on Diversity in Higher Education
March 8-9, 2012
NM Farm & Ranch Museum
The conference is full; registration is now closed.
The goal for this interdisciplinary conference is to provide faculty, staff, graduate students, and administrators at New Mexico State University and its four community colleges with opportunities to articulate, listen to, and reflect on research, pedagogies, and other institutional practices related to diversity in higher education.
Our vision of diversity includes three strands - structural diversity, which includes but is not limited to recruitment and retention issues; classroom diversity, which emphasizes instructional practice and pedagogy; and interactional diversity, which values the informal spaces where students, faculty and staff engage in interactions across diverse populations. We intend for this conference to be an opportunity for faculty, students and staff from across the institution to engage in dialogue using cutting-edge research and best practices as a foundation for these discussions.
